AAM has allocated monies for scholarships for midwives of color and senior student midwives of color for continuing midwifery education. Beginning in 2018, we have made at least $2000 (more if fundraising allows) available annually to be distributed to recipients, at amounts of up to $500 each. This application process

intentionally relies on the applicant to self identify as a midwife (or senior student midwife) and as a person of color.

Scholarships will be awarded once a year in November. Deadline for applications is August 31st.

Monies will be awarded to those who meet the qualifications outlined above. If more applications are received than monies available, the available funds will be divided among the qualified applicants.
